One of the most challenging jobs I have had was with Sprint USA.. Well, technically, I worked as a customer service rep who takes calls and gives my ear and heart to Sprint clients.. I have had many interesting calls and many exciting moments. But what I cannot forget was the woman who only called for an upgrade, but was perhaps literally venting out her emotions.. Main point was that, she was divorced. At some point there, I didn’t know what to say. I was done with the upgrade in half the time, and she was still talking.. I tried saying “Am so sorry to hear that”, but her reaction puzzled me. She said it was a marriage she wanted out for a very long time, so I said, “So it’s Congratulations then??”, and the client laughed. She laughed so hard and asked for my supervisor. I was afraid for a SUP CALL is something I could not imagine.. But guess what she told my sup?
She said I was funny and I made her laugh, and with that, she told my sup I should get a raise or something.. huh??? I was puzzled. But, yes, it was a good call. It was short, and I was able to hit the mark by doing everything that the client wanted, and well, I made her laugh..
Funny, it didn’t make me laugh that moment, but every time I see a Sprint logo, that’s the first thing that I will always remember.. and our trainer who always calls me by my first name, Beautiful..
